Conversation with KRR

I have a quote in one of my AOL profiles that says the following:

"Humans assume that if there is a God, s/he is as judgmental as they are."

This is an e-mail from someone who apparently did not much like my quote. (Real e-mail address removed to protect the intolerant.)

hi i'm sorry that i have nothing but rude to say, but your quote very much offended me.....the one about God. How about living your life in the Christ-like way. Maybe you will be more happier and understand God's way. For GODis someone that you shall not insult!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry it offended you. Did you understand it? It isn't intended to offend anyone. It is simply an observation on my part that people tend to bring God down to their own level of comprehension rather than admitting that there's no way anyone could understand a Supreme Being completely.

I am actually somewhat like Christ, if I may say so, in that I have brought light to the lives of many and saved people from their own prejudices and misconceptions. I've been told this many times. As for living my life in the "Christ-like" way . . . I'm afraid you probably know very little about my life since you've judged me on so many words that you may have misinterpreted. Don't judge lest ye be judged yourself. As an aside . . . Christianity is but one way of interpreting what people think of as God's word. It doesn't mean it's the "right" way just because it is the one that you and others have chosen. It also doesn't make me wrong.

I believe I understand a great deal more than you think.

She never wrote back.

Mikey: What can be said except that I think that this was handled with the best of words, I am surprised that she chose not to write back but perhaps the sincerity of the words convinced her that the person whom she was talking with actually had a brain and was more than capable of using it. And I think the ending of this response was awesome.
